From 1 July 2025, the Spanish Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has introduced new official traffic signs to improve road safety and better adapt to modern mobility needs. If you're preparing for your Spanish driving theory test, especially in English, it's essential to be familiar with these new signs.

Key New Signs You Should Know

  • PE-4a – Pedestrian Priority Zone: Indicates streets where pedestrians have priority over vehicles. Speed is limited to 20 km/h.
  • P-33 – Warning: Personal Mobility Vehicles (VMP): Signals areas with frequent circulation of electric scooters or similar devices.
  • R-120 – No Entry for PMVs: Prohibits access to electric scooters and other VMPs.
  • S-51 – Electric Charging Point: Indicates the presence of an electric vehicle charging station.
  • S-52 – Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ZBE): Marks environmental zones with restricted access based on the vehicle's emissions label.

Why Is This Important?

These new signs may appear in the 2025 theory exams, especially under the updated "environmental and safety" sections. Students who learned only from old question banks might miss key questions related to these updates.

Tip for Test Takers

  • - Personal mobility (scooters, e-bikes)
